Ubisoft’s ‘Far Cry Primal’ Set For February Release

Ubisoft is currently developing another installment of the Far Cry franchise, as Far Cry Primal hits PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016. The title will also have a Windows PC launch on March 2016.

The Stone Age set title takes gamers to 10,000 BC, where humans have to fend for themselves against dangerous beasts that are on the higher end of the food chain. Whether it’s a sabretooth tiger or the woolly mammoth, danger is just around the corner.

The storyline centers on seasoned hunter Takker, the last surviving member of his hunting group. Upon arriving in Oros, gamers will attempt to survive in the wild, create weapons, and defeat other tribes to rule Oros.

“The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game,” said Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director, Ubisoft.  “Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier.  The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain.  That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself.”
