New episodes of Chrisley Knows Best , now in its fourth season, begins Tuesday, August 23 with back-to-back episodes (USA Network). The season received an extension to bring this season up to a total of 26 episodes, and the show has also been renewed for season five, which airs in 2017.
Sarah Wayne Callies’ acting schedule has been a hectic and fruitful one over the past couple of years. Tonight, you can catch her on the USA network show Colony, which has been renewed for a second season and she also stars in the horror-thriller The Other Side of the Door (opening March 4).
One show I have high expectations for, especially after watching the pilot, is the freshman thriller/dramaMr. Robot. The series centers on Elliot (an effectively paranoid yet inquisitive Rami Malek), a talented programmer who joins a hacker group (led by Christian Slater) that’s out to take down the firm he’s tasked to protect (he’s a security engineer during the day).
After a hugely successful run with Burn Notice, producer Matt Nixis back with the drama/thriller Complications. Jason O’Marais John Ellison, a doctor whose life is torn asunder due to his daughter’s passing. When he saves a young boy from a drive-by shooting, Ellison is introduced to a world outside his suburban confines.
Alice Braga (I Am Legend), recently seen opposite Simon Peggin the Kill Me Three Times, will topline the upcoming USA Network series Queen of the South. Based on the best seller La Reina Del Sur, the show received a 13-episode order.
Actress Anne Heche stars in the new event series Dig, a Gideon Raff (Homeland) and Tim Kring(Heroes) project which explores the action-adventure genre on a deeper level. Amidst the globe trotting set pieces are mysteries which will hopefully entice viewers, and the first episode premieres tonight on the USA Network (10 pm et/pt).
Whether it’s an infidelity or a communication breakdown, reconnecting with lovers can be an arduous challenge. That’s the journey Neil Truman (Matt Passmore) and his wife Grace (Stephanie Szostak) encounter with the new USA Network series Satisfaction.
“I think Satisfaction, in this post modern era comes down to a contentment and being at ease with your own identity and your own skin,” said Passmore, who previously starred in TV’s The Glades. “Being satisfied at the place you are in life at any given and the people that you’re with. That’s the whole point, because that is incredibly elusive.”
Neil Truman (Passmore) chases that elusive dream of happines, and part of his journey deals with strengthening his union with Grace. Satisfaction’s strongest asset lies in the chemistry between Passmore and Szostak, as watching their characters experience their own personal struggles is compelling summer viewing. In the clip below, he talks about mining such emotional territory with his co-star.
Satisfaction airs tonight on USA Network (10 pm et/pt).
To play Doctor William Rush in the new USA Network series Rush, actor Tom Ellis uses music to set a tone for the character and his respective surroundings. Ellis grew up playing various instruments, including French horns, drums, and the guitar (his mother was a music teacher and his three sisters are also musically inclined).
“It’s all part of the same thing,” said Ellis on the interrelated disciplines. “Certainly for me (in) being instinctive about what I do. I don’t sit and think too much about stuff, but I just try and tap into something and it plays out musically in my head.”
Check out the video below as Tom Ellis explains how music is an important element to his acting process (he mentions Rush executive producer/writer Jonathan Levine in the clip):
Rush, co-starring Larenz Tate and Sarah Habel airs Thursday nights at 9 pm et/pt (USA Network).
Premiering tonight on USA Network, Satisfaction centers on Neil Truman (Matt Passmore), a successful investment advisor who hasn’t put enough time into his marriage with his wife Grace (Stephanie Szostak). His intimacy issues culminates into Grace’s tryst with an escort, thus sending their relationship into a seeming tailspin.
“She didn’t actively search for a male escort,” says Szostack, whose movie credits include The Devil Wears Prada and Gimme Shelter. “For the first time, she’s connected to all of herself and not in (just) being a wife and a mother. So she feels alive for the first time.”
Such a heartbreaking occurrence may actually lead Neil and Grace back to a deeper understanding of each other, as the series will also delve into both of their lives before the infidelity took place. I was one of the bloggers who had the chance to speak with the actors earlier in the year during a Television Critics Association (TCA) press day, and I asked Passmore about his transition from the beloved TV series The Gladesto his current role in Satisfaction.
Created and executive produced by Sean Jablonski (Suits, Nip Tuck), Satisfactionairs tonight on USA Network at 10 pm.
