“Justified: The Complete Final Season” Hits Blu-Ray & DVD in June

Justified: The Complete Final Season hits Blu-ray and DVD on June 2, and since the show ended on a highly resonant, well-acted, and superbly written note, I’m definitely looking forward to the Blu-Ray version.

While putting a fitting end to the complex relationship between U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and charismatic career criminal Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins)the final season also welcomed Avery Markham (Sam Elliott), a shady businessman who has several hired henchman (including a gun-slinging, mustachioed Jonathan Tucker) do his bidding, into the fold.

Mary Steenburgen also returns as the manipulative Katherine Hale, whose continued collaboration with Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns) has huge repercussions in her romantic union with Markham.

Blu-Ray Special Features:

  1. Hollywood to Harlan Featurette – The writers of Justified research Kentucky and Harlan’s coal mines before penning the show’s final season.
  2. Directing The Show: Adam Arkin – A behind the scenes look at Arkin as he directs the episode “Trust.”
  3. Dutch Speaks – An interview with late writer Elmore Leonard, who shares his thoughts on Justified.
  4. Deleted Scenes – Per The Hollywood ReporterJere Burns talked about a death scene that didn’t make the final cut. Hopefully this is one of the sequences that are added to the mix.

***the DVD version only contains the “Hollywood to Harlan” featurette.
