Chick Fight co-stars Fortune Feimster and Dulcé Sloan are stand-up comics who are, in essence, versatile artists. Both of them have spearheaded their own podcasts (Sincerely Fortune and That Blackass Show), and they talked to Deepest Dream about how comedy is just part of their repertoire.

‘Fatman’ Review: Mel Gibson’s Christmas Movie Is Chock-Full Of Cinematic Goodness

Mel Gibson in "Fatman" (Saban Films).
Headlined by Mel Gibson as Santa Claus, Fatman boasts an entirely out there and original plot. If you have seen (and enjoyed) 2017’s film noir hybrid Small Town Crime, you know brothers Ian and Esholm Nelms don’t play it safe with their narratives. Though this approach may have its detractors, I was immediately hooked with Fatman.

Seth Savoy makes his feature directing debut with Echo Boomers, a propulsive crime thriller set in Chicago that features Patrick Schwarzenegger, Alex Pettyfer, and Michael Shannon. Savoy will forever be in my good graces as he was understanding and accomodating after I could not conduct our first interview. More importantly, he had a ton of insightful things to say about his filmmaking journey with Echo Boomers.

After watching the trailer, I did not connect science fiction with What Lies Below. Vertical Entertainment, however, has labeled their new film as “thriller/sci-fi,” so I’m assuming Mr. Right is literally “out of this world” (excuse the pun). The feature stars Mena Suvari, Ema Horvath, and Trey Tucker, and the trailer offers a few interesting visuals.
