Filmmaker Leos Carax’s acclaimed feature The Lovers on the Bridge, starring Juliette Binoche and Denis Lavant, hits Los Angeles theaters (Laemmle Glendale, Laemmle Royal) on August 22. The Lovers On The Bridge centers on the passionate union between an alconholic street performer (Denis Lavant) and a homeless artist (Juliette Binoche). Their romance and life primarily takes place at Paris’ Pont-Neuf bridge. Filmmaker Leos Carax’s creative flourishes and aesthetic is definitely an acquired taste, but he also has his share of enthusiasts.
