“Smile “is a horror movie that I definitely need to see again, especially since “Smile 2” hits theaters on October 18. During the “Dinner in America” interviews, I asked Kyle Gallner about the terrific uncompromising ending of “Smile.”

Smile – Paramount Pictures

Directed and penned by Parker Finn, “Smile” centers on a psychiatrist (Sosie Bacon) who believes she is being threatened by a dangerous entity. Kyle Gallner, Caitlin Stasey, and Jessie T. Usher co-star.

Sosie Bacon and Kyle Gallner star in Paramount Pictures Presents in Association with Paramount Players A Temple Hill Production “SMILE.”

Here is what Kyle Gallner had to say about “Smile’s” ending:

“It was one of my favorite things about
the movie when I was reading the script. (Director) Parker Finn
kept just this brutal tone through the whole thing. I mean, it’s such a nasty ending. It’s so mean and so good.
And I love that it wasn’t tied up in some nice little bow. Her (Sosie Bacon) and Joel (Kyle Gallner) run off into the sunset (and) the curse has been lifted. I loved that she just lights that match and just sets herself on
fire. It’s such a gutsy move for the studio to have accepted that, and I love
that.”
