‘My Golden Days’ DVD Celebrates International Kissing Day

Since my own love life is non-existent, I had no idea July 6 is International Kissing Day. At least my lifelong love, aka cinema, will always be with me, and I’m definitely looking forward to the DVD release of the romantic drama My Golden Days.

In celebration of International Kissing Day, here’s a GIF created from one of the movie’s more romantically heartbreaking sequences:

MGD Train Kiss Scene

Directed by Arnauld Desplechin (Kings & Queen, A Christmas Tale), the story has a grown up Paul Dédalus (Mathieu Amalric) wistfully remembering his first love Esther (César nominated actress Lou Roy-Lecollinet), a beautiful and troubled youth who had a profound impact on Paul’s (Quentin Dolmaire plays Paul as a teen) life.

Special features on the DVD include a conversation with the director, the theatrical trailer, and the featurettes “Two Pauls and Three Esthers: Meeting the Actors From My Golden Days” and “Casting Session: Paul & Esther.”

To hear my review of My Golden Days, check out the Week 11 episode of CinemAddicts below (the conversation begins at the 40:35 mark):

My Golden Days hits DVD July 12.
