During the Blinds and Battles of The Voice, Jack Austin made it perfectly clear that he loves his hometown of Battle Creek, Michigan. Musical theater is a huge passion for Austin, but his journey on The Voice also helped him expand his creative horizons. He talked to Deepest Dream about what he learned from the show and elaborated why he feels very “ready” to grow and flourish as an artist.

Jack Austin chose Niall Horan as his coach during the Blinds, and he even got the chance to sing “This Town” with Horan. It was a wonderful moment on the show, and Austin reflected on that moment during our interview.

“It was so surreal,” recalled Austin. “I felt out of body, but thankfully I’ve had a lot of experience on stage. I grew up in the theater and I’ve been performing my whole live. I was like, ‘this is the biggest moment of my life.’ You have to reel it in. But at the same time, I was allowing myself to have fun.”

Austin also delivered a show stopping rendition of “I Will Wait” during the Battles with DEK of Hearts. Although he lost the battle, Austin was saved by Michael Bublé. Tonight he takes on fellow Team Bublé member Trinity on the Knockouts.

“I am just so thankful for all the experiences that have gotten me to The Voice so far and everything that is to come,” said Austin. “I just hope people stick around because (I) have so many exciting things coming up and I think people are going to be really excited what those things are.”
