‘Failure’ Stream New Album, Set Co-Headline Dates With ‘Hum’

The wait is almost over, as The Heart Is A Monster, Failure’s first album since 1996’s seminal work Fantastic Planet, comes out June 30 via INresidence. Rabid fans in need for an early listen can also stream the album on Entertainment Weekly.

Pre-orders of “The Heart Is A Monster”  via iTunes comes with the instant downloads of the singles “Hot Traveler” and “Mulholland Dr.”

Failure’s tour begins with a June 30 in-store performance at Amoeba Hollywood. Along with their co-headlining dates with Jane’s Addiction, Failure is pairing up with Hum, another group that was beloved in the 1990s but faded from view.

Hearing a Failure/Hum combo of “Stuck On You” and “Stars” at New York’s Webster Hall (August 13) would be oh so wonderful, but alas I am but a West Coast, penny poor, blogging hermit.

I’m eagerly anticipating the Failure album, especially since their latest music isn’t a one-dimensional ode to their past glories. For proof, check out the video to “Hot Traveler,” which was just released last week:
