I absolutely loved writer/director Joe Penna’s Arctic, so there is a ton of high expectations on my end for the Anna Kendrick headlined Stowaway. Feature hits Netflix on April 22. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!

Directed by Joe Penna (he co-writes once again with Arctic collaborator Ryan Morrison), Stowaway centers on a man (Shamier Anderson) who negatively disrupts the spaceship’s life support systems. Since he was not commissioned to be part of the trek to Mars, the “stowaway” has thrown a wrench into their plans.

With resources evaporating at a rapid clip, the crew (Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, Toni Collette) may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure their survival.

Penna’s debut feature Arctic was shot in Iceland over 19 days (Mads Mikkelsen was the lead), and if you love character driven, unsparing survivalist thrillers, this one’s worth a watch.

With a presumably bigger budget and more cast members to work with, it will be interesting to see if Penna broadens his creative horizons with Arctic. It hits Netflix on April 22, and I will definitely cover the living you know what out of this movie.

Are you a fan of Joe Penna’s Arctic and is Stowaway on your must see list? Feel free to comment!
