“I always say faith over fear,” said Tia DuRant on her decision to take part in The Voice: Battle of Champions. “I had to conquer that fear and just make that sacrifice and just go after a big dream of mine.”

One of DuRant’s goals is to not have her artistry put in a box. As proud as she is to represent her hometown of Sumter, South Carolina, DuRant is also looking to take her talents all around the world. “It’s been such a goal of mine to travel,” said DuRant. “(The Voice: Battle of Champions) is a once in a lifetime experience for me to have that, I can check that off my box. And then I definintely want to go overseas and (work on) Broadway. If I can sing in front of Kelly, John and Adam – I can go to Broadway! I really can dream a lot bigger than even the dreams that I thought wouldn’t be accomplished.”
