‘The 33’ With Antonio Banderas Hits Blu-Ray in February


The 33, the true story of the 2010 rescue of the miners who were buried alive in Chile after the collapse of a gold and copper mine, hits Blu-ray and DVD February 16 via. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The project debuts on Digital HD February 2.

The miners were trapped 200 stories beneath the surface as an international team worked over 69 days to rescue the men. The project, directed by Patricia Riggen, stars Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Gabriel Byrne, and Lou Diamond Phillips. The lead actors of the ensemble include Mario Casas, Jacob Vargas, Juan Pablo Raba, Oscar Nuñez, Tenoch Huerta, Marco Treviño, and Adriana Barraza.

 The Blu-ray version contains the featurettes “The Mine Collapse,” “The 33: The World Was Watching,” and the theatrical trailer (The standard edition DVD does not have “The Mine Collapse”).
