Tessa Thompson And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sign On To Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Ash’

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tessa Thompson have signed on Ash. The sci-fi thriller that will be directed by Flying Lotus and executive produced by Neill Blomkamp (Demonic, District 9). Shooting starts next year in New Zealand.

Ash centers on a woman (Tessa Thompson) who wakes up to find the crew of her space station killed. Stranded on a distant planet, she questions if the person (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) sent to rescue her can be trusted. Jonni Remmler penned the screenplay.

Thompson, co-star of Netflix’s Passing andThor: Love and Thunder, is also a producer of the project. Levitt stars in the Apple TV+ series Mr. Corman.

“It’s an absolute dream come true to collaborate with some of the most talented actors out there,” said Flying Lotus, who will also compose Ash’s original score.

Flying Lotus will attend the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival to promote his sgement of V/H/S/99 (the feature is having its world premiere at TIFF).
