Each episode of Timeless feels like a movie, as this time travel program features excellent writing as well as insight on some of the landmark chapters of U.S. history. In the video below, actor Matt Lanter (“Wyatt Logan”) discusses the show’s diversity and discusses his appreciation for the passionate fan base . . .

Matt Lanter took part in this month’s NBC/Universal Summer press day to discuss Timeless, and below is his answer to my “fan base” and storytelling question (having seen several episodes of Timeless, I can attest to its first rate narrative and inspired character arcs!). Video is featured below the transcript:
“It feels pretty incredible to be a part of a show that feels like we’re really making an impact in society and culture. There’s a lot of TV shows on, there’s a lot of network TV shows on, not to like put down any lawyer or doctor show out there, but we’re different. And we bring a value to network TV, I believe. We’ve got a diverse cast, we’ve got a diverse writers room. We tell diverse stories. It’s all something I’m proud of. I guess at the end of the day whether we survive six seasons or not, I can still feel proud of being on the show.
To have a fan base that is so passionate I guess speaks well of the people who are watching the show in my opinion. And it just feels good to know that you are doing something that people love. I have been a part of Star Wars in the past and it’s sort of the same thing – that fan group is so passionate about things but it really makes it fun. And it really makes it all feel worthwhile when they love it so much. The fans brought us back from season one to season two. It was them. I really feel like the fans should feel like they have a sense of ownership over our show because the show, season two, really belongs to the fans.”
