Kate Bosworth And Emile Hirsch Take On Criminal Elements In ‘Force of Nature’ Trailer

Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth in "Force of Nature" (Lionsgate)
The top headline for this Force of Nature post should have used Mel Gibson, but in fairness I don’t think I’m totally burying the lead. Gibson works with Kate Bosworth, Emile Hirsch, and director Michael Polish in the upcoming feature Force of Nature, and though he’s the obvious “star” in the flick, he’s joining a presumably well oiled trio (no double entendre intended!).

Movie Mainline Spotlight: A “Rapid Fire” Take On ‘Hardline’

Movie Mainline Podcast - Bruce Purkey, Luis Lacau, Eric Holmes, and Greg Srisavasdi
We’re just several episodes in on Movie Mainline, and one of our goals is to spotlight people who are simply doing good work in their respective business and craft (and basically life in general). Co-host Eric Holmes talked about his appreciation for the rock band Hardline, and I threw in an ignorant jab at the outfit. I stand corrected because, as their Facebook account pointedly states, Hardline Rocks!

Flick City Episode 14: The Awesomeness of ‘The Vast of Night’ And ‘The Silence of the Lambs’

0

On this episode of Flick City I shower praise on the upcoming film The Vast of Night which hits Amazon Prime Video on May 29. I have audio from my interview w/ TVON actor Jake Horowitz as well. Rounding out the show is an old clip I have of Jamie Bell (he was promoting Teen Spirit at the time) talking about his love for The Silence of the Lambs. I also take a trip down memory lane once again, and by this time I have no idea if I’m freaking repeating myself!

Emotional Truth And Subtlety Are Roadside Companions In ‘Driveways’

0
Driveways, directed by Andrew Ahn, is available to stream on video on-demand and digital. Under less deft direction and less incisive writing, Driveways could fall into the obscurity of just another schmaltzy indie family drama. Luckily, Ahn’s direction, as well as the fantastic, subtle script by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, presents an authentic, lived-in world, with characters we truly care about.

Lily Collins And Simon Pegg Hold The Key To A Frightening ‘Inheritance’

0
Inheritance contains a doozy of a plotline; a mysterious outsider (Simon Pegg) is chained up in a bunker by the family patriarch (Patrick Warburton). When said family man dies, he leaves the “caretaking” responsibility to his lawyer daughter (Lily Collins). With an outrageous premise, this movie could be a must see thriller or an off the rails experience.
