‘My Salinger’s Year’ Author Joanna Rakoff Impressed By Margaret Qualley’s Passion For Reading

If you love coming of age tales centered on the literary world, My Salinger Year should be your cup of tea. Based on Joanna Smith Rakoff’s memoir, the tale centers on Joanna’s (Margaret Qualley) early New York days as the assistant to J.D. Salinger’s literary agent (Sigourney Weaver). Rakoff talked to Deepest Dream about why Qualley was her “first choice.”

In the video below, Joanna Rakoff discusses why Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar) and Margaret Qualley were the perfect choices for My Salinger Year. The feature is now out in theaters and is also available On Demand. I will be doing more coverage of this film (I have a fondness for New York set comedies with a literary and coming of age bent, so this is a definite recommend!), but I just wanted to put the word out to check this film out this weekend!
