Americonned director Sean Claffey asserts that income inequality comes from a system that he describes as an “oligarchy.”

“Just driving around the whole country and meeting hundreds of people who are working really hard and struggling,” said Claffey. “They don’t know why they are struggling. It’s happening for a reason. Basically corporations and the 1% want to extract all the money. So they came up with a plan to divide us to create ‘the other.’ People who are coming across the border are ‘the other.’ People who don’t look like me are ‘the other.’ People who are a different religion than me are ‘the other.’ They’re doing it. But they’re not doing it.”
