The Lodge is the latest prestige horror outing by writer/directing duo, Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. Both made a splash with Goodnight Mommy in 2014. Like Goodnight Mommy, The Lodge has been garnering a divided response by critics. After a stint in the festival circuit and a very limited theatrical run earlier this year, The Lodge is finally available for the masses to view.
The Lodge tells the story of two children spending some time in a snow-bound lodge with their soon-to-be stepmom. The kids might be resentful of this new woman in their father’s life. The woman (Riley Keough) might be mentally troubled. What could possibly go wrong?
