Mindy Miller is one of the four remaining artists on Snoop Dogg’s team on The Voice. Miller talked to Deepest Dream after the Knockouts round, and she elaborated on how storytelling is a big part of her artistry. She also reflected about making “lasting friendships” on the show and being moved by the reactions she has received from The Voice fans. Check out Miller’s insightful interview below!

One of the best aspects of The Voice is the chance to cultivate friendships among the fellow artists.
”We all really do speak the same language, which is music,” said Mindy Miller. “It created really powerful bonds and lasting friendships. It made me a stronger person. The strength I gained from just collaborating, connecting, and taking the time to understand what everybody is there for. It made me feel more rooted in who I am too.”

Miller performed Lainey Wilson’s “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” during The Blinds, and Snoop Dogg immediately turned for her. He even blocked Reba McEntire’s attempt to be her coach.
“ It was so cool and was such an honor,” said Miller. “I’m not gonna lie, at first I didn’t even notice that the block occurred. And I think ’cause I was just in the moment singing the song and Snoop turned his chair within a few seconds. After that I just focused on bringing a really good performance.”

“My mission was accomplished,” added Miller. “I got a chair turned. When it was over, I realized like Reba and Snoop were throwing Skittles at each other and being silly and I’m like, ‘what’s happening right now?'”
What is happening is tonight Miller is on The Playoffs and looking to be the artist Snoop picks for the Lives at 9/8c on NBC (streaming the next day on Peacock). Check out our full interview with Miller, as she talks about the bond she had with her grandparents and making close friends on the show:
