India Eisley reached out to Mena Suvari years ago on social media over a comment Suvari made. “I felt like I needed to address this one thing that she said because it really resonated with something I was going through at that point when I was younger,” said Eisley. She messaged me back and then suddenly we were online buddies.”

In Vampires of the Velvet Lounge, Suvari plays Elizabeth Báthory, a proprietor of an absinthe bar that is used as a front for, simply put, bloody seduction. Eisley and Sarah Dumon are among the coven of vampires who aid in Elizabeth’s quest, with Dichen Lachman as the vampire hunter aiming to take them down.
“It was so much better that we were friends already and had that connection,” added Suvari. “It was so natural and it allowed us to really bring it to where it is.”
