Jennifer Hudson and Harvey Fierstein were on hand last week at the Beverly Hilton Hotel  to talk about Hairspray Live! which airs on NBC December 7 (8 pm et/pt).
During the radio roundtable interviews, the Oscar-winning actress (Hudson won for Dreamgirls) explained how her early years singing in Church shaped her as a performer and artist.
Harry Connick Jr.’s career is as diverse as they come, and if you’re a fan of jazz, crooners, Broadway musicals (The Pajama Game), movies (check out Bug and Copycat),  and pop culture (American Idol), you’re probably familiar with his body of work. His latest venture Harry is a daytime variety show that premieres September 12, and during a recent interview I asked him if his lifelong love and dedication to jazz has influenced him as an artist.

At today’s NBCUniversal Summer Press Tour, Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif talked about their new series Botched By Nature, an eight episode program which has them traveling through the country and meeting people who have had their share of challenges due to genetics or traumatic incidents (one patient, as seen from the series’ trailer, was struck by lightning).
The intriguing aspect behind KT Tunstall’s musicianship lies in her ability to blend rock and melodic pop into one delicious pot of gumbo (sorry I’m currently in a New Orleans state of mind). New episodes of Chrisley Knows Best , now in its fourth season, begins Tuesday, August 23 with back-to-back episodes (USA Network). The season received an extension to bring this season up to a total of 26 episodes, and the show has also been renewed for season five, which airs in 2017.

Centering on an impulsive yet often well meaning young woman (Ellen Page is Tallulah) who steals a baby from a neglectful mother (Tammy Blanchard) at a New York Hotel, the feature is an uncompromising tale that blends melodrama, dark humor, pathos, and a sliver of fantasy into the mix. Allison Janney co-stars as Margo, the mother of Tallulah’s boyfriend (Evan Jonigkeit).
