Widows, directed by Steve McQueen and headlined by Viola Davis, is Anderson Cowan’s most anticipated film of this year, so obviously that’s ther lead of our title. But wait, there’s more! I absolutely loved The Clovehitch Killer and this episode features a bit of insight into Anderson’s screenwriting process and his love for the David Lynch flick Wild at Heart!!
I’m a fan of film noirs and short running times, so I’m more than happy to report that: A. Hospitality is only 80 minutes and B. It stars Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui! I’m sold, but there are other reasons why I’m giving this film a shot . . .

Full disclosure – I’m a huge fan of the podcast Homecoming and thankfully the Amazon series didn’t disappoint. Below is my interview with show creators Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg as they discuss taking their program from an audio world to a distinctly visual one (the series has a distinct, Hitchcockian and Brian De Palma-esque flair).
Stephan James & Julia Roberts in "Homecoming." (CR: Jessica Brooks)
Audio enthusiasts are probably familiar with Homeland, the critically acclaimed podcast series featuring the voices of Catherine Keener, Oscar Isaac, and David Schwimmer. That story is now a Julia Roberts headlined series, where the visual word takes a bigger stage over the pod’s immersive soundscapes. But not to worry, this freshman series carves its own space in Heidi Bergman’s expansive and all too unpredictable world.
Halloween’s in just a few days, and in celebration of the holiday, Comet TV and Charge! have given us a few items for this week’s giveaway. The Nosferatu T-Shirt is a must have!
As an aging Gen-Xer, anything related to the 1980s pop culture wise instantly grabs my attention. The upcoming 80s Symphonictakes 15 beloved tracks from the 1980s and gives them the 50-piece London Studio Orchestra treatment. A list of the songs features are below!

As Halloween closes in on Venom’s recent $80 million opening weekend, let’s get it straight from the source (director John Carpenter) on the ever lasting popularity of Michael Myers.

I mentioned on this month’s CinemAddicts about my absolute love for The Guilty, and a couple of weeks later this movie is still on my brain. Expect this movie, which many will compare to Locke, to be remade in the U.S. sometime down the road. But enough of that, if you don’t know a thing about The Guilty, please read on . . .

Returning to the franchise that changed her career some forty years ago was a creatively fruitful and emotional experience for Jamie Lee Curtis, and in the following post we have audio of the actress reflecting on the final scene she shot in Halloween. It’s a three minute plus audio clip, but it’s definitely worth a listen.
