Crime and revenge go together like peas in a pod, and upon first glance Avengement seems like another dime a dozen flick to meld those elements. Headlined by Scott Adkins and directed and co-written by Jesse V. Johnson, Avengement takes its story to a refreshingly different stratosphere.

The Aladdin remake has one major update that I won’t spoil concerning Jasmine (for details, check out this Yahoo! article), but one of the extra additions is the new Alan Menken song “Speechless.” Naomi Scott (Power Rangers), who stars as Jasmine, talked about performing the song and what made it a unique experience.

Keanu Reeves received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 2005, and yesterday he sunk his hands and feet in fresh cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre. Reeves’ co-stars Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) and Halle Berry (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) were in attendance.
Whether it’s her scene stealing work in Justified or as part of the comedic family of Last Man Standing, Kaitlyn Dever has shown she has considerable talent. Dever aims to continue her first rate resume with Booksmart, a highly praised comedy directed by first time feature filmmaker Olivia Wilde. For Dever, the Booksmartscript was absolutely “honest and real on the page.”
During the interviews for Superstore, I asked Ben Feldman to name one of his favorite movies and discuss what makes it a special cinematic experience for him. He gave us two for the price of one (Dead Poets Society, A Few Good Men), and check out the Feldman video below as he explains why, when it comes to cinema, the words have always mattered!
Cinematic nightmares are just around the corner, as the just released trailer for The Lodge displays a ton of potential if bone chilling thrillers are your cup of tea. Check out the trailer below!
Lily Collins has delved into her share of fantastical narratives (Mirror Mirror, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones). With Tolkien that fantasy element remains alive, but this time out its heart and soul lies within the realms of reality. In our audio post below, Collins discusses what makes Tolkien a unique project.
Emile Hirsch in "Peel." (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)
Peel is a coming of age drama about an adult (Emile Hirsch) with arrested development. Such a plot could make for an innocuous and forgettable feature, but director Rafael Monserrate aims for a much deeper experience and absolutely delivers on that subtle promise.

Henry Lau’s music career includes being a member of the K-Pop group Super Junior-M as well as carving out a successful solo career. A Dog’s Journey marks Lau’s Hollywood debut, and it was his acting that landed him the role of Trent.
