CinemAddicts co-host Bruce Purkey gave high marks to the Netflix limited series Death By Lightning. The four episode program focuses on the true story of President James Garfield’s (Michael Shannon’s) assassination at the hands of Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen). “It does have a lot of the politics and machinations behind the scenes of the time,”  said Bruce Purkey.  “But not in the boring sense. There is a lot of scheming and a lot of backstabbing. The fact that James Garfield becomes president in the first episode, you discover how he almost accidentally becomes president. Let’s just say Garfield had no interest in becoming president.”
