Directed by E.L. Katz, “Azrael” centers on a world where no one speaks. A young woman named Azrael (Samara Weaving) is on the run from a devout community that are determined to sacrifice her and pacify an overwhelming evil. The picture was written by “You’re Next” and “The Guest” screenwriter Simon Barrett. Check out the trailer and share your thoughts!

Samara Weaving in “Azrael” – IFC Films/Shudder

“Azrael” takes place after The Rapture, and from the trailer one assumes most of the survivors live out in the wilderness. Running at 85-minutes, the feature co-stars Natahan Stewart-Jarrett, Vic Carmen Sonne, Katariïna Unt, and Sebastian Bull Sarning.

Director E.L. Katz’s previous directing credits include “Small Crimes” and “Cheap Thrills.” Samara Weaving previously starred in “Ready or Not” and “The Babysitter.”

The action filled trailer makes the movie look promising, and it will be interesting to see how the movie will flourish without dialogue. Cinema is also known as “moving pictures,” so I’m definitely expecting some interesting visual flourishes with “Azrael.”

Check out “Azrael” when it hits theaters on September 27th!!
