Sam Elliott is getting a ton of coverage thanks to his Oscar nominated performance in A Star Is Born. That’s perfect timing for the February release of his next film The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot. Check out the trailer below, and though I’ll be posting a full review later, I’ll give a couple of thoughts on the feature as well!!

Calvin Barr (Sam Elliott) fills his days drinking at his local bar and wandering about town with his loyal dog. Haunted by his past, Barr was actually a skilled officer who actually killed Hitler (Aidan Turner plays the younger Barr). That accomplishment is not our protagonist’s most notable moment. Meeting and falling in love with a schoolteacher named Maxine (Caitlin Fitzgerald), at least in his eyes, was his life’s purpose. The world, however, needs Barr to come out of retirement to find an kill the Bigfoot (hence, the catchy film moniker). I’ll be posting a more in-depth review in the coming week, but as you watch the trailer below remember this; it’s not a straight up B-movie adventure film. Rather, it’s a much more pensive film than advertised, and for me that was a good thing.
Check out the trailer and feel free to share your thoughts. I’ll be discussing this movie as well on the February episode of CinemAddicts with my co-host Anderson Cowan, and I also had a chance to interview the film’s director (Robert D. Krzykowski). So expect a on of coverage for The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot!
The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot hits theaters, VOD, and Digital HD on February 8.
