The original Quantum Leap ran from 1989 to 1993, and over the years it has garnered a loyal legon of fans. Although Scott Bakula confirmed he is not involved with this reboot, Quantum Leap is back with a new storyline and actor (Raymond Lee) headlining the series. Although the reboot aims to have a singular identity, Lee expressed his character (physicist Ben Song) has a “connection” with Dr. Sam Beckett (Bakula).

“I think at the core of it, I think what connects Ben Song and Sam Beckett are the main tenets of their belief in doing good and what it means to be empathetic,” said Raymond Lee at the NBCUniversal TCA Press Tour. “And I think through that, as they pass through bodies, they’ll have a joint experience of agreeing on the fact that they’re both doing right what once went wrong.”

One of the biggest advantages of Quantum Leap is the diverse array of roles Lee tackles throughout the series. Check out the below as he cites how the show offers him “the roles of a lifetime”:

Quantum Leap airs Monday, September 19 on NBC (10 pm ET) and episodes will be available the following day on Peacock.
