Quiver Distribution and Redbox Entertainment have acquired the North American rights to the Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House) headlined thriller Becky. The picture, co-starring Kevin James is a selection at this year’s Tribeca. Film Festival and hits On Demand and Digital on June 5.
Directed by Cary Murnion. and Jonathan Milott, the tale centers on a rebellious youth named Becky (Lulu Wilson) who spends a weekend getaway at a lake house with her dad Jeff (Joel McHale). Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!“Kevin James is known for his amazing collection of standup and comedic roles from such films as Paul Blart, Mall Cop and his TV series The King of Queens,” said Quiver Co-President Barry Meyerowitz. “In Becky, Kevin delivers a chilling performance in his first villanous role, especially playing against rising star Lulu Wilson in an epic head-to-head battle. We are thrilled to bring Becky to audiences so they can see Kevin in a while new light.”
It’s going to be interesting to see if James can pull off the role of a hardened and violent criminal, but my money is on James being the big scene stealer in Becky. What are your thoughts on this upcoming film? Feel free to comment!
