If you’re into black and white vampire films, Nadja might be a movie suited to your tastes. Directed by Michael Almereyda, this 1994 film received a 4K restoration in a new Director’s Cut. Cinephiles can currently check the movie out at BAM for a week-long run (through February 12). Check out CinemAddicts co-host’s Eric Holmes’ review below!
Elina Löwensohn plays the titular character, a female vampire living in New York City in the late 90s. Nadja aims to reunite with twin brother Edgar (Jared Harris) after their father’s passing. Executive produced by David Lynch (who makes a cameon in the movie), Nadja co-stars Peter Fonda and Martin Donovan.

Eric Holmes, Bruce Purkey and I reviewed Michael Almereyda’s Tesla several years back and all of us didn’t recommend the movie. That said, Holmes was more than ready to check out Nadja this week and he wasn’t disappointed. He gave the feature ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and really enjoyed the feature. Holmes added that Lynch fans should also “feel at home” with Nadja.
