At the NBCUniversal Winter Press Tour, Matt Long and Luna Blaise sat down to talk about the second season of Manifest. During the convo, Long discussed his love from the John Wayne flick The Searchers and Luna Blaise praised The Shining. Video is below!

Luna Blaise on The Shining:
Mine’s The Shining. Stanley Kubrick. Just because of how many firsts came out of that movie . . . I’ve watched the Behind the Scenes of that movie so many times. It’s intense and it’s super harsh the way Stanley Kubrick handled himself and his actors but you can tell that it’s all for the art . . . it’s beautifully shot and the acting is just superb. I love Stanley Kubrick.
Matt Long on The Searchers:
“If I had to pick one film, which is so hard to do, I’d probably pick The Searchers. I’m a huge fan of Westerns and I love John Wayne. Not all of his movies, but a lot of them. And I love John Ford. I love those Westerns from the 40s and 50s especially. It’s just so beautiful to look at. It’s such an iconic story. It’s about redemption – there’s a darkness (to it). I think it’s my favorite character that John Wayne ever played by a mile. There’s so many great things about it.”

As much as I love both films, I haven’t seen either in over 20 years, and since I’m attempting to watch at least 500 movies this year, I’ll probably add both to my watchlist.
