Directed by Paul Goldman (“All The Way”), “Kid Snow” centers on a boxer (Billy Howle) who works with his older brother Rory (Tom Baateman) in a circus. Set in the Australian Outback in the 1970s, the feature co-stars Phoebe Tonkin as Sunny, a single mother who joins the circus to make ends meet. Check out this post for my “Kid Snow” review!

One aspect of my “Kid Snow” that I forgot to mention was the chemistry between Billy Howle and Tom Bateman. Kid Snow (Howle) and Rory (Bateman) are still reeling over a tragedy that occured ten years ago, and their fractured relationship serves as the heart of “Kid Snow.”

Tonkin is also effective as Sunny, a woman who is struggling to support her son and finds a potential companion in Kid Snow. Director Paul Goldman does a great job of capturing this tent circus environment of the 1970s, and I gave the film a positive review.
I would have loved to have seen more time devoted to the other members of the circus. Each of them stood out the limited time they had on screen, but the movie is 127 minutes and that would have bloated the narrative.
