Jessica Belkin is very proud of her latest feature “Last Straw,” a horror/siege thriller which gives her a plum role and intriguing narrative. Director Alan Scott Neal and writer Taylor Sardoni have delivered a nail-biting tale spotlight’s Belkin’s flourishing leading role talents. Belkin talked to Deepest Dream about what made “Last Straw” a unique working experience.
Nancy (Jessica Belkin) is a young waitress who is working at her father’s (Jeremy Sisto) local diner, and for some reason she has been on edge all day. Forced to work the late shift, she is besieged by several thugs who intend to do her harm.

“This was a dream role to get,” said Belkin, whose previous credits include ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Hunt Club.’ “And I think even from the initial audition, when I read the sides, I was in love with the project. Nancy was so cool. She’s everything she says and everything that I wish I could say. I get to be a part of this. This is a thriller (and) a crime drama. So yeah, it was really fun.”Â
Belkin turned 20 on the “Last Straw” set, and now the 22-year-old reflects on how working on that film as well as “American Horror Story” has influenced her acting path. So where does she see herself five years from now?
“I would like to still be working and still have the fire for this, for the craft, and still be just as obsessed with telling stories,” said Belkin. “I would love to explore more, horror thriller genres, and and work my way up into the scream scream queen world. I think it, I think it’s a good look on me. So I would love to continue that.”Â
