Directors Emanuela Galliusi and Dean Rolands’ feature film Zoe premieres today at Dances With Films NYC. The narrative centers on the titular character (Galliusi) who finds herself experience life in Ibiza, London and Paris thanks to a wizard! CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes talked to the duo about their ambitious indie feature. Holmes described the movie as “cute as hell” so he definitely recommends Zoe!
Dean Ronalds has been working with Emanuela Galliusi for over 13 years, and during their move to Italy they were inspired to create an “uplifting” story.”
“Also with a message but not heavy,” said Ronalds who added that the film is inspired by such projects as Big and Groundhog Day. “(These projects) gave us an understanding of life and who we are.”

For Galliusi, the project was an invigorating process. “It was our pitch for the cast and crew,” said Galliusi. “Sometimes when you are in the business for a while, you’re like ‘Wait, when I was littled and when I started, this was so much fun.’ So it was a magical experience.”
