As a dude who hates change and loves Joe Bastianich’sĀ  no nonsense, intimidating swagger, I’m still wrapping my head around Christina Tosi’s addition to theĀ MasterChef crew. Tosi’s success with Milk Bar, coupled with the prospect of bringing a different dynamic to the show, should immediately put me in my happy place.

Originally set on an electrical engineering path,Ā TosiĀ changed gears and went to culinary school. “Baking certainly requires a sense of curiosity and a sense of creativity but there are very strict parameters,” says Tosi. “It very much starts with the scientific nature of what makes something puff and rise and crisp and the sort of balance of many scientific elements in the kitchen. That is the sort of foundation of baking – and you can’t fake that.”
