The Salt of the Eartha documentary which centers on the compelling and inspiring life of photographer Sebastião Salgado, hits Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital HD July 14 via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Wim Wenders and Sebastião’s son Juliano Ribeiro Salgado are the doc’s directors.

During its run, “The Salt of the Earth” was honored with an Academy Award and Independent Spirit Award nominations, and it also won awards at the Cannes Film Festival (Un Certain Regard, Special Jury Prize) and at the César Awards (Best Documentary Film).

Special Features include:
  • The featurette “Looking Back” has Wenders and Salgado discussing the making of the film.
  • Over 35 minutes worth of deleted scenes.
  • Commentary with Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado
