Opening in theaters August 8, My Mother’s Wedding centers on three sisters (Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, Emily Beecham) who return to their childhood home to celebrate their mother’s (Kristin Scott Thomas) marriage. The movie marks the feature directing debut of Kristin Scott Thomas, and she talked to Deepest Dream about that experience. This week in CinemAddicts land I highly disagreed with co-hosts Eric Holmes and Bruce Purkey over She Rides Shotgun. I absolutely love this action-thriller, mainly due to the locked in performances from Ana Sophia Heger and Taron Egerton. Holmes described the storytelling logic as “stupid” and Purkey echoed a similar sentiment. Check out our podcast review in the post!

Director/co-writer Jamie Bailey, co-writer/actor Simon Phillips, producer Ken Bressers, and actor Anthony Crivello talk about the feature. The filmmakers did a deep dive on the making of The Omro Heist and delivered some interesting insights on indie filmmaking.
Academy nominated actress Danielle Deadwyler (Till) delivers another memorable performance with The Woman in the Yard. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, this feature centers on Ramona (Danielle Deadwyler), a widow who tries to protect her children from a mysterious entity outside their farmhouse.
Eddington centers on a small town mayor (Pedro Pascal) who does not see eye to eye with the local sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix). Set in May 2020, the movie tackles social issues of that time. According to reviewer Eric Holmes, the entire film was much ado about nothing. Check his review below!
