The Angry Black Girl And Her Monster centers on Vicaria (Laya DeLeon Hayes), a teenager who believes death is a disease that is curable. After her brother’s murder, she attempts to resurrect him. Writer/director Bomani J. Story talked about how his tale, inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, comes from a personal place.
The Out-Laws - Adam Devine, Nina Dobrev, Ellen Barkin, Pierce Brosnan (Netflix)
Do Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin look like a pair of bank robbers? Brosnan has experience (The Thomas Crown Affair) and Barkin is simply an intimidating force (Animal Kingdom). The Southern Fried Film Festival is a four day event that showcases culturally diverse movies and filmmakers. Taking place June 8-11, the opening night takes place at The INTUITIVE Planetarium. Remaining nights will feature screenings at Studio Theatre at Lowe Mill. Festival founder Trevite Willis talked to Find Your Film co-host Bruce Purkey about the Southern Fried Film Festival.
