Already generating great word of mouth prior to its June 19 release, Dope centers on Malcolm (Shameik Moore), an Inglewood, CA. resident with big dreams of attending Harvard. Premiering Monday, June 8 (Bravo, 10 pm et/pt), the freshman series Odd Mom Out has deliciously acerbic (and witty) author Jill Kargman playing a heightened version of herself as she finds herself ensconced in the burdensome, keeping up with the Joneses environment of New York’s Upper East Side. During an interview with Kargman, I asked her how she found her voice as a writer.

This year’s focus of the 42nd Film Fest Gent will be on British cinema, so Patrick Doyle was the ideal candidate to grant the Lifetime Achievement Award to, during the 15th World Soundtrack Awards,” said Patrick Duynslaegher, artistic director of Film Fest Gent. “Anyone who can still recount hearing Doyle’s score for Kenneth Branagh’s debut film “Henry V” in 1989 for the first time, knows that back then a great composer was born.”
Along with composing a hauntingly beautiful score for director Brian De Palma’s New York set crime drama “Carlito’s Way,” Doyle has also worked on “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” “Hamlet,” “As You Like It,” and “Thor.”
In the Soundcloud bar below, “Thor” actor Tom Hiddleston talks about meeting composer Patrick Doyle:
