Pitch Perfect 2- Universal Pictures Home Entertainment
Directed by Elizabeth Banks, Pitch Perfect 2 has taken over $280 million worldwide, so expect a huge reception when it comes out September 22 on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
Although the biopic Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Michael Fassbender, is getting all the press, a documentary on the late Apple co-founder is just around the corner. Penned and directed by Alex Gibney, Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine centers on the life of the iconoclastic genius whose visionary outlook left an indelible mark on society.
Ed Sheeran gets his own special, as Ed Sheeran – Live at Wembley Stadium airs Sunday, April 16 (8 pm et/pt) on NBC. The program, which includes a duet with Sir Elton John, also features Sheeran performing his Grammy nominated track “The A Team” and the hit single “Thinking Out Loud.”
Whether it’s Insidious or Little Children, Patrick Wilson definitely has the acting and singing (Phantom of the Opera) chops. Zipper features him as Sam Ellis, a charismatic politician who’s on the rise. But as the moniker suggests, keeping one’s desires snuggled in a pair of slacks is Ellis’ weakness.
Lea Michele’s successful collaboration with Glee producer continues with Scream Queens, but instead of belting out songs like there’s no tomorrow, she’s raising her voice out of fear!
Life after Mad Men for Kiernan Shipka apparently takes place in a seemingly remote countryside, surrounded by a domineering father and a healthy dose of family tragedy. At least that’s what the intriguing trailer to One & Two suggests.
Meghan Linsey could have stayed in the country lane, but her successful journey on The Voice proved that her creative passions can’t be placed in one little box. Her EP Believer, debuting Friday, July 31, is a testament to that aesthetic.
One of this year’s finest films, Mad Max: Fury Road, hits Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD September 1 via Warner Bros Home Entertainment.
Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki won Oscars last year for their towering achievement Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance) and, for my money, there’s no better 1-2 punch behind the camera. The trailer to their latest film The Revenant, was recently released.
It’ll be hard for Cold War Kids to top their insanely catchy, kick-ass song “First” (at least in my book), but thankfully this isn’t an outfit known for regurgitating similar sounds. Case in point is the release of their intentionally quick-trigger, frenetic track “One Song At A Time,” which is available on the band’s just released EP Five Quick Cuts.
