Want to see a widely split reaction to “Rumours?” Check out its Rotten Tomatoes score, with an 80% approval from critics and a 27% Rotten rating from the audience! Headlined by Cate Blanchett, “Rumours” hits On Demand November 12. I ended up recommending the movie, but CinemAddicts co-hosts Bruce Purkey and Eric Holmes had different opinions. “Marry Christmas,” a holiday film starring brothers Joey Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, and Andrew Lawrence, hits Digital on December 3 via Shout! Studios. AppleTV, Amazon, YouTube Movies, and Fandago at Home are among the digital retailers that will carry the title.
The dark comedy “Your Monster,” starring Melissa Barrera and Tommy Dewey, hits PVOD on November 12. I really enjoyed this feature, and it has a showstopping tune in the third act. For more details on the feature and my review, check out the post!
Tom Cruise, at 62, keeps on running and taking down villains with “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.” The folks over at Paramount Pictures stated that the wardrobe Cruise wears in the trailer is the same outfit he wore while performing his Paris 2024 Olympic Games stunt!
If you are searching for an eccentric feature with a ton of bite, “Hippo” might do the trick . Filmmaker Mark H. Rapaport, who co-wrote the script with lead actor Kimball Farley, has crafted a distinct, dark, and ultimately resonant coming-of-age tale about two misguided step-siblings (Farley, Lilla Kizlinger). Both CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes and I highly recommend this feature. Check out our review below!
CinemAddicts co-host Bruce Purkey reviews and delivers spoilers for “The Substance.” The picture, starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, is one of Purkey’s favorite films of 2024. It is also in the running for Purkey’s #1 spot! First eight minutes of the review is spoilier-free, and then the rest of the Video features a spoiler discussion.
Director/writer George Nolfi and actor Anthony Mackie have worked together on “The Adjustment Bureau” and “The Banker.” Their successful collaboration continues with the first rate action thriller “Elevation.” Nolfi talked to Deepest Dream about the visual design behind his ambitious feature and elaborated on why he loves working with Mackie.
Based on the true story, “Sallywood” centers on Zack (Tyler Steelman), a twenty something writer from Maine who leaves Maine to pursue a career in Hollywood. He is inspired by Sally Kirkland’s Oscar nominated performance in the movie Anna, and after a chance encounter she asks him to be his assistant!
If you’re looking for a solid action film with creature feature elements, “Elevation” is worth a look. This post-apocalyptic tale, set in the Rocky Mountains, centers on a single dad (Anthony Mackie) and two women (Maddie Hasson, Morena Baccarin) who leave their environment to save a young boy’s life. Hasson talked to Deepest Dream about the project, and towards the end of the chat she recommended two of her previous projects “Impulse” and “We Summon The Darkness.”

“Night Court’s” original run was epic, and it’s great to see that years later the latest iteration is entering its third season. John Larroquette is the TV luminary that connects both series, and he’s glad to be back in court as the quick witting Dan Fielding.
