I really loved director/writer James Gunn’s (Guardians of the Galaxy) take on the vigilante superhero universe with Super, and now he’s bringing his family into the mix with Brightburn. While Super was an inspired (and heartbreaking) riff on Batman, Brightburn takes on the Superman myth head on, and the trailer is absolutely fantastic.
During a recent interview with Superstore actors Lauren Ash and Mark McKinney, I asked them to name their favorite films. Ash picked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and McKinney chose the French comedy La Cage Aux Folles (later remade as the Robin Williams and Nathan Lane feature The Birdcage).
