CinemAddicts co-host Bruce Purkey loves to consume A24 movies, and he recently saw Opus on HBO Max. Although he said the movie is “terrible in a lot of ways,” he still recommends the movie! Is it because it stars Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, and Amber Midthunder? Check out his revlew and share your thoughts on Opus!

Directed and written by Mark Anthony Green, Opus centers on Ariel Ecton (Ayo Edebiri), a journalist who is invited to the compound of music icon Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich). The eccentric artist has twisted plans for the future, but since he is surrounded by sychophants his goals may be met.

Bruce Purkey cites Midsommar, The Menu, and even Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as possible influences for Green’s movie.
