Wednesday season two (part one) is upon us, as devotess of the Netflix series can binge watch the entire for episodes. Here is a spoiler free review on why the season thus far is actually just as good (if not better) than the first!

1. MISDIRECTION
There is one huge surprise within the first four episodes that deals with a character. I absolutely thought that this person was headed towards a certain path and I was totally surprised at what happened. Credit the writers for absolutely shocking the living you know what out of me when this happened.

2. VARIETY
The first four episodes of Wednesday, season two (part one) has a ton of subplots and new characters. This leads to a ton of variety in the storytelling and one can feel the refreshing lack of complancency in the series. Though sometimes too much plot can overstuff a series, the more the merrier approach with Wednesday is really working. Giving more spotlight to the supporting players is also one of this season’s many strengths.

3. More Addams Family
One minor complaint I had from Wednesday season one was the lack of time devoted to the rest of the Addams Family. That problem has been rectified with these first four episodes. Pugsley Adams (Isaac Ordonez) has a sizable role and Morticia Adams is also prominently featured. Without giving too much away, family is a big part of season two, and that’s a great thing.

4. The Evolution of Wednesday
Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is on a huge mission this season, and a big part of her focus lies on making sure Enid (Emma Myers) is safe. In one of Wednesday’s psychic visions, a dead Enid blames Wednesday for her passing. Although she is a brave, intelligent and indomitable individual, Wednesday has her flaws. Those imperfections are on display this season, and it is great to see her character more fully developed.

5. No Cheating!
The fourth episode of Wednesday, season 2 has a ton of stuff going on, and the cliffhanger is effective but doesn’t short change the viewer. You get a lot of bang for your buck story wise from the first half, and there are a couple of questions that are solved by the end of the fourth episode.
So far season two has been pitch perfect (my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). Share your thoughts on the second season’s first four episodes in the comments!
