I really dig space exploration movies, and usually when there is alien contact from Mars, the end result isn’t a good one. Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson (The Girl on the Train) star in the upcoming science fiction film Life, and the trailer and images are available after the jump.

David Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Miranda North (Rebecca Ferguson) in Columbia Pictures’ LIFE.

Life centers on the six member crew  that have discovered evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the adventures of the International Space Station continue their research, their methods leads to a domino effect which, in turn, ends up being disastrous (especially, as I’m guessing, for Ryan Reynolds’ character).

Though I still haven’t seen Child 44, director Daniel Espinosa proved with Safe House (a film which starred Reynolds and Denzel Washington) that building tension is one of his creative skill sets. Hopefully Life will take that tension, mystery, and action to an even deeper level when Life hits theaters March 24.  Rebecca Ferguson, the least known name of the ensemble, is a total scene stealer in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and it’ll be great to see her continue to deliver as a must watch lead actress.
