Based on Joanna Smith Rakoff’s memoir, the tale centers on Joanna’s (Margaret Qualley) early New York days as the assistant to J.D. Salinger’s literary agent (Sigourney Weaver). Rakoff talked to Deepest Dream about why Qualley was her “first choice.”
