JW Griffin is one of the top 9 artists competing tonight on The Voice: Battle of Champions. He’s part of Team Kelly, and Griffin talked to Deepest Dream about his overall experience on the show and how it has impacted his career. He also discusses his new single, a catchy tune titled “Tend The Flame.” Full interview is below!

One of the biggest advantages regarding JW Griffin’s hard work on The Voice: Battle of Champions is the impact it’s had on his music career. “It’s been great so far,” said Griffin who is based in Nashville. “I’m staying busy, which is all I can ask for. It’s more stressful, but in a good way. Like having to manage my time and booking my own gigs. My calendar’s filling up and we’re pretty much into the fall now (and) I think that’s a good thing. I’ve got my hats, my merchm and I’m getting that ready to start selling at my gigs. I’ve just got a bunch of stuff going on and that’s thanks to The Voice.”
Along with his hectic schedule, JW Griffin spends much of his days in Nashville songwriting which, in turn, led to his latest single release.
“‘Tend The Flame’ is my most recent release,” said Griffin. “I have some (more songs) coming out soon as well, but I wrote that one with my roommate Jon Michael McKinnon. We wrote it about a year ago, and he’s a great guitar player. He played every instrument in that track, including the mandolin (and) banjo. The idea of the song is just like knowing where you came from basically and taking care of what’s important in your soul. Deep down (it’s) family, a few good friends, kind of the most important things in your life. That’s what you need to take care of more than the superficial things is kind of the idea of the song.”

Catch JW Griffin tonight on The Voice: Battle of Champions (Semi-Finals) at 9/8c and streaming the next day on Peacock.
