Dwayne Johnson On “San Andreas” & “Life Changing” Experience

Opening May 29, San Andreas centers on Ray (Dwayne Johnson), a search and rescue helicopter pilot who, along with his estranged wife (Carla Gugino), attempt to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their daughter. With an earthquake striking California, their mission will require the utmost bravery (and maybe even a little luck).

For Dwayne Johnson, taking on San Andreas was a creatively gratifying experience:

“You have a responsibility when you play first responders, which I’ve learned and this is why I say it’s been a life changing experience for me . . . but also there’s an expectation that fans have with what we have been used to delivering. So now we want to take that and we want to raise the bar. Honestly, everyone came together with the script – the script was very well-written.”
