I dig stylized thrillers, and the film noir-ish, visually arresting Detour should have received way more attention when it was released this year. I’m giving away 1 (one) Blu-ray of Detour for this week’s Deepest Dream giveaway. Details below!!
To enter the Detour Blu-ray Contest:
- Please “Like” Deepest Dream on Facebook: Facebook.com/deepestdream.
- If you’re already a Deepest Dream Facebook member, please like my CinemAddicts page (it’s a show I do with Anderson Cowan).
- If you’ve already liked both FB pages from previous contests – you are totally fine. Enter as many future contests as you like (but hey, if you want to give me Movie Recommendations, I’m jotting all the Recs on a Notebook)!!
- Please email me at [email protected] to confirm your Detour Blu-ray entry. U.S. entrants only!!
- Contest ends Sunday, May 7th at 11:59 pm pt. (***FYI I’m also running a DVD giveaway of I Am Not Your Negro on CinemAddicts).
The picture centers on a law student (Tye Sheridan) who, after a night of drinking, is cornered by two grifters (Emory Cohen, Bel Powley) after he supposedly asked them to kill his stepfather (True Blood’s Stephen Moyer). Director/writer Christopher Smith brings an unbridled visual confidence to the proceedings, and I really loved the film’s breakneck pace and gorgeous compositions (all three leads are solid in the film as well). Special features on the Blu-ray include interviews with Smith and Sheridan, a featurette, and the theatrical trailer.
