Written and directed by Thomas Bezucha, Let Him Go centers on George (Kevin Costner) and Margaret (Diane Lane), a couple who are mourning the loss of their son. Fearing the welfare of their grandson (their former daughter-in-law has a new husband), they leave their Montana ranch to face off with Blanche Weboy (Lesley Manville) and her clan. Costner, Lane, and Manville are great in this film, but the movie did not connect with me on a visceral level. Let Him Go was ultimately a mixed bag for me, but if you are a fan of the aforementioned actors, I would recommend Let Him Go. Three out of five stars for me!

Anderson spends the first part of our episode discussing The Hater, and he actually thought we discussed Jan Komasa’s latest film on a previous episode. I have no recollection, but Anderson has a better memory so I would trust him over me any day. That said, if you have not seen Komasa’s 2019 feature Corpus Christi, it’s worth a watch. Cowan loves both movies. Anyways, here’ the Corpus Christi trailer:

Anderson’s top pick for November is the Mel Gibson feature Fatman. Co-starring Walton Goggins, the feature hits select theaters November 13 and On Demand/Digital on November 24.

The big film in November I’m looking forward to is Sound of Metal. The trailer has me hooked, and it looks like Riz Ahmed is delivering one of this year’s best performances. Olivia Cooke is also awesome, so I have high hopes for this film.
