All My Friends Hate Me centers on Pete (Tom Stourton), a well meaning guy who is invited by his upper crust college chums for a weekend of fun to celebrate his birthday. Stourton co-wrote the surprisingly dark and witty comedy with his longtime writing partner Tom Palmer. The pair talked to Deepest Dream about the secret behind their successful collaboration.
Hitting theaters and On Demand March 11, Ultrasound is a mindbending thriller which will have cinephiles perplexed right until the very end. Figuring out the puzzle box behind this movie was a worthwhile experience for me, and I asked co-stars Chelsea Lopez and Rainey Qualley about their takes on the Rob Schroeder directed feature.
Mattie Do has the distinction of being the first female Laos director, and her features have received worldwide acclaim. Released in 2019, The Long Walk is finally available in the U.S., and this meditatative horror/thriller simply floored me. My Find Your Film mates and myself praised the heck out of the feature, and I’m hoping as many people I know get to see this resonant and unfailingly bracing narrative. Directed by Reem Morsi, The Last Mark centers on Keele (Shawn Doyle), a hitman who does not want to kill an innocent bystander named Peyton (Alexia Fast) after a recent killing. Bryce Hodgson is Palmer, Keele’s psychotic partner who is on on Keele and Peyton’s train. Gasoline Alley centers on Jimmy Jayne (Devon Sawa), a Los Angeles tattoo artist who is behind the eight ball. Two detectives (Luke Wilson, Bruce Willis) tag him as the prime suspect int he murder of several women, and Jayne battles the odds to clear his name. Director/co-writer Edward Drake brings his lifelong love for film noir to Gasoline Alley. As a fellow noir enthusiast, this conversation was right up my “alley” (Drake’s references to The Big Sleep and The Third Man immediately won me over). Full video interview is below!
